CENTRAL HIGH BRONCHOS
Head Coach: DUSTY KETNER
5-6
Central High enters the new season with a young roster and a coaching staff that believes the experience gained a year ago can quickly translate into wins. Head coach Dusty Ketner, now in his third year leading the program, describes his group as “young, with potential” and sees a team that is ready to grow up fast under the Friday night lights.
On offense, the Bronchos will continue to lean on a traditional I-formation look built on toughness and a commitment to the run game. Senior center Beau Klein (5-10, 220) anchors the offensive line and brings a workmanlike approach as a three-year starter who has done everything his coaches ask of him. Sophomore quarterback Layne Johnson (6-0, 220) steps into a key role and fits the “three yards and a cloud of dust” mentality that defines Central High’s offensive philosophy.
Defensively, Central High will base out of a 3-3 alignment, relying on discipline and pursuit to slow opposing offenses. Sophomore Aiden Haggerty (6-3, 185), a defensive end, emerged as a versatile defender last year, stepping up to “play on every level of defense as a freshman,” and will again be counted on to impact the game at multiple spots. With a young core gaining confidence, the Bronchos expect their defensive growth and physical play to help them stay in games as their offense continues to develop.
