Comanche Indians
Coach: Bode Grice
1-9
Comanche’s 2025 season was defined by adversity, but head coach Bode Grice believes the payoff is coming. Injuries forced several young players into prominent roles a year ago, and that experience has helped transform the 2026 roster into a more mature, confident group. “The 2026 season is one to be excited about,” Grice said. “There is a ton of excitement within the program. The guys are buying into the standard and expectation that is being set as well as meshing together as a team. We will look to make a playoff run.”
Offensively, the Indians will operate out of a power spread, aiming to marry physical downhill running with the ability to get their athletes in space. Quarterback Carson Vansickle (5-11, 175) returns after throwing for 730 yards and eight touchdowns while adding 200 rushing yards and four scores, giving the offense a dual-threat leader. In the backfield, Rylan Hancock (5-10, 230) and Shawn Bohannan (5-10, 200) bring size and power, with both expected to carry a heavy load behind an experienced offensive line anchored by Levi Slovack and Kain Pritchett (5-10, 240). On the perimeter, Rylan White (6-2, 185) is a proven playmaker after posting 485 receiving yards and six touchdowns, while Cooper Dobbins (5-7, 155) adds another reliable target with big-play ability. With multiple returning weapons, Comanche’s goal is to control the line of scrimmage and stay balanced throughout games.
Defensively, Comanche brings back seven starters and will line up in a base 4-2-5 designed to stop the run and pressure the quarterback. Vansickle leads the secondary from his safety spot after recording 44 tackles and an interception, while White locks down the outside at corner with four picks. At linebacker, Hancock and Bohannan anchor the interior, and Kaison Votruba (5-10, 180) gives the unit range on the edge. Up front, Pritchett is a key piece at defensive tackle, joined by Slovack and newcomer Robbie Daffern to form a deeper rotation. With more experience and playmaking ability at all three levels, the Indians expect their defense to look much different than it did a year ago.
