BOONE-APACHE WARRIORS

Coach: KENON WHITE

10-2

OFFENSE

As the Kenon White era begins for the Warrior football program, many of the players are excited to see what they can accomplish after a 10-2 season. With several players returning to the team, coach White is excited to have leaders on the team stepping up and taking ownership of their future as a team. “This team will have a really good balance of upper and underclassmen. I’m excited to see how they come together with the upperclassmen being really good leaders,” said White. District Quarterback of the Year Houston Herrin (5-10, 175, Sr.) is back after rushing for over 1,400 yards and 16 TDs with over 1,000 yards passing and 10 TDs. Herrin has plenty of weapons including Mark Dietrick (5-11, 175, Sr.) and Champ Buckner (6-1, 170, Sr.) at wide receiver. Both guys can make plays in the spread-gun offense. Running back Dayton Scott (5-9, 170, Jr.) gives the offense another layer an opposing defense must prepare for and hope to stop. Scott will look for the big guys up front to help the run game. Zane Carrol (6-3, 285, So.) and Luke McNeill (6-0, 255, Jr.) can move the line of scrimmage and help the team be successful on any down and distance.

DEFENSE

The Warriors plan to play fast and physical out of the 3-4 scheme this season. Brandon Lindsey (6-3, 255, Sr.) had 55 tackles and 17 TFLs last year and is a VYPE Top 100 selectee. Lindsey was the Class A District Player of the Year. Everything starts up front for this defense. Look for Mathew Maguire (5-8, 165, Sr.) to be a disruptor with Lindsey this season. Zach Roberts (6-3, 190, Sr.) joins the group up front to give the Warriors a player who can get after the quarterback. Jakob Harvey (6-0, 190, Jr.) starts at linebacker giving the Warriors a true downhill thumper who never avoids contact with ball carriers. The secondary features Jarod Maguire (5-10, 165, Jr.), a player who has the speed to stick to receivers and the willingness to step up and make tackles against the run. The coaching staff includes Brandon Langford, Ryan Pollard, and Kevin Vice.
