MINCO BULLDOGS
Head Coach: KEVIN WITT
10-2
Coming off a 10-win campaign, Minco is turning the page to a new era with a fresh face on the sideline and several new starters stepping into key roles. First-year head coach Kevin Witt knows the standards in Minco are high, and he embraces the challenge, saying there will be “a lot of new faces stepping onto the field this season but that doesn’t change our expectations,” while noting the Bulldogs have “a talented group with high expectations.”
The offense will center around a spread look that uses multiple formations, motions, and tempos to stretch defenses horizontally and vertically. Sophomore quarterback Eli Russell (6-2, 170) moves into the starting role and will be asked to manage the tempo while distributing the ball to a deep cast of playmakers. Up front, senior lineman Trapper Mulanax (6-5, 230) provides size and experience, and targets like junior receiver Tucker Wilson (6-2, 160) and sophomore receiver Britton Beck (6-4, 185) give Minco a chance to create mismatches across the field.
Defensively, Minco will line up in a 3-4 multiple-front scheme that leans on aggressiveness and disruption. Senior linebacker Cashton Johnson (5-10, 165) is one of the tone-setters in the front seven, while junior lineman Jaxon Mathews (6-6, 235) brings a big, physical presence to the defensive line and offensive front. Senior safety Landon Wright (5-9, 135) will patrol the back end, and the Bulldogs plan to attack, pressure, and swarm to the football as they integrate their new starters into a proven defensive identity.
