RUSH SPRINGS REDSKINS
Coach: TIM BEARD
4-6
Rush Springs enters 2026 after a 4-6 season and a major transition, as the program drops down to eight-man football under longtime head coach Tim Beard, now in his 18th year at the school. Beard says they are “dropping down to 8-man, excited to try a different version,” adding that they “have super high expectations and kids are stoked.” With six offensive and seven defensive starters returning, the Redskins bring experience into this new format.
Offensively, Rush Springs returns six starters and will carry over its run first mentality into the eight-man game. The line is a clear strength, led by senior guard and VYPE Top 100 nominee Cade Jones (6-4, 290) and supported by other big bodies up front. Junior running back Caysen Silverhorn (5-9, 190) returns after rushing for more than 600 yards as a sophomore, giving the Redskins a proven ball carrier to feature. Senior quarterback Leeland Reed (6-0, 150), who played receiver the past three years, will move under center, while senior wideout Derrick Boyster (6-2, 195) provides a big target on the perimeter. Beard says they have solid weapons with big receivers on the outside who can run and an offensive line that should be a strong unit on the team, anchored by a senior quarterback who makes smart plays.
Defensively, Rush Springs brings back seven starters and will play an attack style defense with a mindset to swarm the ball. Senior defensive end Judson Jones (5-10, 165) is a three-year starter on the edge, while senior linebacker Brycen Smith (6-3, 180) adds length and experience in the middle. Sophomores Easton Seifried (5-7, 125) and Justin Hart (5-8, 170) both played significant roles as freshmen, with Hart starting 10 games. Junior defensive end Colten Slawson will be an anchor on defense, rounding out a front that combines size, length and experience.
Jones is Rush Springs’ VYPE Top 100 nominee, a 6-4, 290-pound offensive guard and defensive end whom Beard describes as having great feet and the tools to play on the next level, noting that “plenty of schools [are] interested in him” and that he is a three sport star. With a blend of power up front, a feature back, and aggressive defense, Rush Springs believes it can make an immediate impact in eight-man football.
