Carnegie Wildcats Basketball Team Preview – Presented by Farmers Bank

The Carnegie Wildcats enter the 2025-2026 season with a mix of senior leadership and youthful energy that has Head Coach Wade Wallace eager to see what this group can become. After finishing 14-13 last season, Wallace believes his team’s offseason dedication will pay off when it matters most.

“We’ll be young, but I’m excited about this group,” Wallace said. “They’ve been in the gym all offseason, putting in the work. By playoff time, I think we’ll be a tough out in Class A.”

At the core of Carnegie’s roster is senior guard Ken Whittington (5-8, Sr.), a four-year letterman who sets the tone on and off the floor. Whittington averaged 8.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists last season while also being one of the team’s most vocal leaders. “Ken’s just a great kid,” Wallace said. “He’s the kind of player and person every coach wants leading their program.”

Fellow senior Kevin Galvez (5-10, Sr.) provides steady production in the frontcourt after averaging 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. His physical play and energy on the boards will be vital for a team that’s counting on underclassmen to step into larger roles. Senior guard Karson Thompson (5-7, Sr.) also returns as a dependable defender and glue guy who helps keep the Wildcats organized on both ends.

A key piece of Carnegie’s future, and possibly its present, is freshman guard Andrew Mossman (6-2, Fr.). Wallace calls him one of the purest shooters he’s ever coached, and the young standout could lead the team in scoring as early as this season. “He’s got great size, a smooth shot, and handles it well,” Wallace said. “Andrew’s going to be a big part of what we do.”

Sophomores Jerin Thompson (5-8, So.), Hudson Harrison (6-3, So.), and Bradley Whittington (5-10, So.) headline a talented group of underclassmen who will see meaningful minutes and help shape the program’s future.

Other players that will look to contribute this season are Preston Turney (5-9, So.), Kaleb Bush (5-10, So.), Isaiah Cavaness (6-2, So.), Jaxson Tsontakoy (5-8, Fr.), Brandon Chalepah (6-2, Fr.), Zane Lucas (5-6, Fr.), and Antonio Resendez (5-8, Fr.).

With strong senior leadership and a promising young core, the Wildcats are focused on steady growth and chemistry. If they continue to develop throughout the season, Carnegie could be a dangerous team come playoff time.
