The Comets are coming off of an outstanding season a year ago, advancing to the Area playoffs. Head coach Kenny Bare and his squad have their goals set to make a deep run in the playoffs this season. “We return our three starting guards this year and have two guard move-ins who are capable of starting, so our depth should be strong at that position. Also two of our post/forwards saw significant playing time last season. We should be a fast-paced, high scoring team this season. After a run at the Area tournament last year, we have our eyes set on the big house this year. Two guys expected to be leaders this season are Jackson Lohrer (6-2, Jr.) and Kellan Biffle (5-10, Jr.). Both are explosive guards who can shoot or drive. They are also great leaders and ball handlers. Brodric Spigner (6-1, Sr.) is a very hard working player. He has a passion for the game and it shows when he is on the court. Easton Beck (5-11, Sr.) is a senior athlete who moved over from Empire last season and fit into the system really well. He is a great leader and role model for our younger players. Other Comets that are looking to contribute this season are Talon Quick (6-2, Sr.), Gunter Sain (5-11, Sr.), Joe Zavala (5-9, Jr.), and Zander Riffe (6-5, Jr.).
