Last season was a good one for the Bronchos as they advanced to the Regional round of the postseason. But head coach Kenny McGough is looking for a deeper run this season by his squad. “We will come into the season with very high expectations,” McGough said. “We have four full time starters returning and another guy who started half of our games. We have a good combination of size, athleticism, experience, and just overall solid players. Our depth will allow us to play very aggressively on both ends of the floor. I feel like our summer and offseason showed that we are primed and ready to make a deep playoff run. It is for sure a group of extremely hungry guys. The adversity that they went through a season ago has really made them appreciate the game and they will not take anything for granted. We are really excited for the opportunity that is in front of us.”
Luke Thrasher (6-3, Jr.) is back to be a force on the court. He led the team in almost every major statistical category and is not expected to let up this season. He is solid at all 3 levels on the offensive end, and defensively is a problem for whoever he defends. Another big time player coming back is Ethan Brummett (6-6, Sr.). His size gives him the ability to play with his back to the basketball but he is also able to hit shots from the perimeter. Landon Johnson (6-2, Jr.) is another player that is solid on the perimeter. He averaged double-digit points last year and looks to increase his production this year. Looking to be a key player on both ends of the court is Tyler Minden (6-2, Sr.). He is good on offense and a tough player on defense. Wyatt Nix (6-0, So.) is an underclassmen but will bring a lot to the team this season. With continued work, he could be a dominant player. Other guys looking to make contributions this season are Kobe Marquis (6-0, So.), Mitchell Owens (5-9, Jr.), Jamison Scott (6-0, Jr.), Kutter Jackson (5-10, Sr.), Wesson Parker (6-1, Sr.), Gavin Barton (6-0, Jr.), Ethan Bowling (5-9, So.)
Zack Ely (6-0, Sr.), Brody Ridenour (5-10, So.), and Kelan Ellis-McFarland (6-0, Jr.).
