The Duncan Demons’ baseball team had a great season a year ago, advancing to the Class 5A state championship game. Unfortunately, they fell just short of hoisting the championship trophy, losing to Carl Albert in the final game. But head coach Randy Smith says that his team brings back some players from last season and he is looking forward to the season. “We have all of our pitching back this year,” Smith said. “If we can stay healthy, things will be good.”
Two players that should play a big role on the team are Eli Ramirez and Brisco Smith. Eli is a game-changing centerfielder, while Brisco controls the game on the mound. Both are outstanding athletes that have signed to continue their baseball careers at the University of Oklahoma. Ty Lane is a sophomore on the team and looks to make some big contributions. He knows how to work hard and is always working to improve his game. Another kid to keep an eye on is junior Atticus Booth. He is a great kid that works hard and will do anything that is asked of him. He was a big asset for the team last season, stepping in to play shortstop when the regular shortstop was called on to pitch.
