ALTUS BULLDOGS

Coach: Robert Garrison

OUTLOOK

The Altus Bulldogs enter the 2026 season with speed, depth, and a dynamic mix of talent across all four classes under head coach Robert Garrison.

“The 2026 version of the Bulldogs will be fast,” Garrison said. “We are going to blessed with so many athletes that are quick. The big problem we will have is just finding the space to get them into events. The team will have a great mix of athletes from all four classes. We will be much stronger in the field events this year as well due to the amount of young talent coming in.”

Leading the way is Jemele Alexander, a steady presence and leader for the program.

“Jemele has quickly and quietly become the leader of the program,” Garrison said. “He has constantly been the ‘go-to’ guy for the team. He is always leading workouts and holding everyone accountable. He is a part of our two sprint relays and does a couple of the open sprints, but he would run just about anything we ask him to. Jemele is one of those athletes that you will hate to see leave your program.”

Freshman Zareke Durrough is already generating excitement.

“Zareke is only a freshman but you will be hearing a lot about him in track,” Garrison said. “He is a three-sport athlete who is presently in basketball (his love). He will be one of the top 800 runners in Class 5A this year. He will be counted on to help lead our 3200 and 1600 Relays as well as the open 800. He would like to long jump this season so it will be great to see what he can do.”

Athlete Zayden Glatzer-Brown continues to make an impact both on and off the track.

“Zay is just one of those athletes that you can tell is just a great person,” Garrison said. “Zay is well liked by everyone who knows him. He is a major part of our team as an 400 runner and a part of our 800 and 1600 relays. Zay comes out, works hard and then goes to his job. That shows a ton of character about him.”

Additional contributors include Noah Barfknecht, Adam Garcia, Khamden Lane, Mason Laney-Hines, Kadin Lomax, Aaron Martinez, Pepper Osborne, D’Amonte Woodhouse, and Charles Ward.

“Noah Barfknecht- Going to counted on in the 400 and 1600 relay. Adam Garcia- Coming back from injury and has been one of the hardest working distance runners. Khamden Lane- Currently trying to get over a groin injury but will be one of our top sprinters as soon as he gets healthy. Mason Laney-Hines- Will be one of our top throwers. Looking for him to go to State in Discus this year. Kadin Lomax- Will be one of the top 300 hurdlers in the state. Will also be a huge help in the 1600 Relay. Aaron Martinez- Will be a strong 400-800 runner for us once he gets 100% healthy. Pepper Osborne- Will be counted on in the Long Jump and some sprints. D’Amonte Woodhouse- Will be a big part of our sprint group this year. 100-200 runner and will help with relays. Charles Ward- Quickest athlete on the team. Not many people know about him since he hasn’t been running track until last year. Keep an eye on him because you will see his name.”
