ALTUS BULLDOGS
Coach: CRAIG HUBBARD
8-3
Energy has not been a problem in Altus as the Bulldogs transition into a new era under first-year head coach Craig Hubbard. A strong winter in the weight room rolled right into competitive spring practices, leaving the program optimistic about what 2026 can become. “Our team had a great winter workout prep that translated to our spring ball practices and spring game,” Hubbard said. “We are looking forward to a great summer of preparation that should springboard us into the 2026 season.”
Offensively, Altus will build around a 21-personnel set with a clear identity: establish the run and layer run-pass options off that ground game. At the center of it all is quarterback Xavier Pitts (6-0, 175), a senior who can manage the offense, threaten defenses with his arm and make good decisions in the RPO game. He will share the backfield with feature back Zayden Glatzer-Brown (5-9, 185), a two-year starter who spent his first seasons in the defensive backfield but now steps into a starring role on offense. On the perimeter, the Bulldogs have length and athleticism with receivers Noah Barfknecht (6-2, 180) and Caprese Colcote (6-2, 180), while D’Monte Woodhouse (6-2, 185) gives Altus a versatile H-back who can move around the formation. Guard Jacob Johnson (6-0, 240) anchors the offensive line, providing physicality up front for a unit that returns six starters and expects to control the tempo of games.
Defensively, the Bulldogs will line up in a multiple 3-3 stack with a philosophy built on taking something away and forcing opponents to earn every yard. The goal is to make teams one-dimensional and then make them drive the length of the field to score. Pitts also locks down a cornerback spot, giving Altus a proven two-way contributor on the back end. Inside linebacker Shonn Pitts (6-2, 195) brings size and range in the middle of the defense, while defensive linemen Dallas Eichelberger (6-4, 255) and Jax Eichelberger (6-3, 245) give Altus two imposing young presences in the trenches who already own starting experience and next-level potential. With four defensive starters back and talented underclassmen stepping in, the Bulldogs expect this unit to complement their physical offense.
