OFFENSE
In his first season as head coach and seventh season at Hollis High School, coach Jeremy Robinson is leaning on the experience of his players and group of seniors he believes will help this team take the next step. “Look to capitalize on experience. We are returning several starters, and our group of seniors is a good bunch. Started a bunch of underclassmen last year, and they ought to have the experience to make
some noise this year,” said Robinson. Returning from an injury last season is Kreid McQueen (6-0, 195, Jr.) will start at running back where coach Robinson said he could be a 1,000-yard back. Matt Parker (6-1, 150, So.) and Lincoln Bronn (5-8, 155, Jr.) could split time at quarterback. Both are capable of playing WR as well. Parker Sykora (6-2, 150, Sr.) figures into the passing game as well as tight end Brody Whisenant (5-7, 160, So.). Sykora can stretch the field vertically and keep the defense from crowding the box. The single wing offense will allow coach Robinson to use players in various ways including running some twins and trips. Kadyn Mills (6-1, 220, Jr.) will start at guard giving the offense a player to build the offensive line around.
DEFENSE
With seven starters back on defense, the Tigers have a solid group that will run the 3-2 and work to swarm to the ball. Wyatt Warren (6-3, 220, Jr.) combines size and effort with a physical brand of football making him someone most opponents try to avoid. Isis Luna (6-1, 185, Sr.) starts at DE giving the Tigers a player that can pressure the QB and force teams into bad decisions. Jayvi Vasquez (5-6, 200, Jr.) may be slightly undersized at nose guard, but he is tenacious play forces teams to adjust their blocking scheme account for him on every play. Cris Saldana (5-9, 155, Sr.) is an experienced secondary player and someone who can shut down any attempts to hit something deep. McQueen will join Warren at linebacker and will have ample opportunity to make plays for the Tiger defense. The coaching staff includes Dustin Perkins, Mark Whisenant, and Jace Webb.
