Chickasha volleyball enters the 2026 season with a renewed sense of energy and cohesion under second-year head coach Nikki Clay. After finishing last season with a balanced 15-15 record, the Fightin’ Chicks are focused on building consistency and turning competitive moments into victories. With a year of experience in Clay’s system, the team is showing signs of growth both on and off the court.
“I’m very excited for my second season with Chickasha Volleyball,” Clay said. “This team loves to compete and celebrate each other’s successes. Each player brings something unique, and when it all comes together, it’s going to be special.”
One of the key pieces to Chickasha’s success will be setter Nahla Alexander. Known for her improved decision-making and leadership, Alexander has embraced the responsibility that comes with running the offense. Her ability to stay coachable and respond to feedback has elevated her game, and her presence will be critical in keeping the team organized and efficient during matches.
Chyna Carney is another player poised to make a significant impact. Carney has continued to develop as a well-rounded player, improving both offensively and defensively. Her commitment to daily growth and team-first mentality sets the tone for those around her. With her skill set expanding, Clay believes this could be a breakout season for Carney as she takes on a larger role.
Avariona Sexton brings a different, but equally valuable presence to the team. Known for her selfless attitude and quiet work ethic, Sexton has become a versatile option capable of contributing wherever she is needed. Whether it’s stepping into a new position or supporting teammates, her willingness to adapt makes her an essential part of the lineup.
As a whole, Chickasha is focused on unity, effort, and execution. With players who genuinely support one another and embrace competition, the Fightin’ Chicks are building toward something promising. If their chemistry continues to develop and individual growth translates to team success, Chickasha could take a meaningful step forward this season.
