Chickasha fastpitch softball enters the 2026-27 season in a period of transition, but head coach Dalton Streber believes the foundation is firmly in place for continued growth. After finishing 11-12 a year ago and graduating six key seniors, the Fightin’ Chicks will rely on a mix of returning experience and emerging young talent to shape their identity. Now entering his third season at the helm, Streber has seen steady progress and expects that trend to continue.
“We’re excited to see this group step into bigger roles,” Streber said. “Our upperclassmen will lead, and our younger players will have opportunities to show what they can do.”
One of the focal points for Chickasha will be junior Brynlie Alexander, a two-year starter at shortstop. Despite battling injury last season, Alexander remained a consistent contributor, finishing among the team’s top five in multiple offensive categories. Fully healthy, she brings a dynamic skill set that includes speed, power, and defensive reliability, along with natural leadership qualities.
Sophomore Parker Gresham is another player poised for a breakout. After gaining valuable experience as a freshman, Gresham is expected to take over primary duties behind the plate. Her strong arm and power at the plate give Chickasha a presence in the middle of the lineup, while her development as a catcher will be key to anchoring the defense.
Fellow sophomore Gracie Peschl provides versatility and consistency. A left-handed hitter with speed, Peschl excels at getting on base and setting the tone offensively. Her ability to play multiple positions adds depth and flexibility to the lineup.
In the circle, senior Olivia Wilson will be counted on to lead. Wilson saw significant action last season and brings a steady presence both as a pitcher and at the plate. Her leadership and team-first mentality make her a cornerstone for this year’s squad.
Sophomore Alivia Brumley rounds out a talented group, competing for a starting outfield role. Her speed, defensive ability, and relentless work ethic make her a valuable asset.
With a blend of youth and experience, Chickasha is focused on development and embracing new roles. If the Fightin’ Chicks continue their upward trajectory, they could surprise opponents as the season unfolds.
