ALTUS BULLDOGS BASEBALL
Coach: Brady Davis
OUTLOOK
“We are experienced, but inexperienced all at the same time,” said head coach Brady Davis. “We will have a good group to build and motivate to recreate a strong culture. We will be playing a good blend of seniors and juniors, with sprinklings of sophomores and freshmen. Top to bottom, we hope to create competition and push each of these athletes to be successful.”
At the heart of the Bulldogs’ lineup is senior Kashton Lamb, a four-year starter. “Kashton is a four-year starter and will be our starting shortstop this year,” Davis said. “He is a true utility and can play anywhere on the field if we need him to. He is a selfless kid that is willing to do just about anything to ensure success for the team before himself.”
One of the program’s most exciting young players is Ketcher Lamb, a sophomore ready to make an impact after a setback last season. “Ketcher is a guy we will be looking for big things from this year,” Davis said. “He saw some time a year ago as a freshman before ending his season with a knee injury. We are looking at him to play a corner position, mainly first base, and be a solid presence in the box. He’s the younger brother of Kashton and is also a lineman on the football team.”
The Bulldogs will also be counting on a trio of players recognized for their character and leadership both on and off the field—Cole Adams, Jack Owenby, and Luke McMahan. “Cole is a solid kid that did whatever was asked from him the past two years,” Davis said. “He has been rewarded with playing time as a freshman and sophomore and will be a big part of our team this year. Jack earned his way into the starting lineup last year by being a utility player and having a great work ethic in the offseason. We are hoping that continues as he transitions into his junior season. Luke McMahan is an incoming freshman and has already played a lot of baseball. He is a kid that walks around with a smile on his face and a little swagger without arrogance. We are hoping to develop him into a solid baseball player to help us for years to come.”
