For Duncan High School’s basketball program, leadership often means doing the little things right—day after day, possession after possession. Senior guard Carson Carrio has embodied that standard throughout his career, serving as a reliable presence and one of the team’s most consistent performers during the Demons’ rise in recent seasons.
A three-year starter, Carrio brings a calm, confident demeanor to the court. Averaging 11 points per game, he’s delivered steady scoring and veteran poise that helps the team stay composed in pressure moments. What sets him apart, though, is his ability to stretch defenses with elite three-point shooting. When Carrio finds his rhythm behind the arc, the momentum of a game can change in an instant.
“Carson Carrio is a three-year starter who has been a steady and reliable presence in our program,” head coach Zac Knox said. “He is averaging 11 points per game and has developed into an elite three-point shooter who can stretch the floor and change the momentum of a game quickly. Carson’s experience, confidence, and consistency make him a key piece of our success, and he competes every night with a team first mindset.”
Carrio’s growth as both a shooter and leader have been instrumental for a Duncan squad defined by selflessness and effort. His confidence continues to elevate those around him—whether he’s knocking down a corner three, drawing a charge, or communicating on defense, he leads with composure and a focus on teamwork.
Off the court, Carrio’s leadership and work ethic mirror his on-court approach. Known for his positive attitude and steady demeanor, he’s earned the respect of both coaches and teammates as someone they can always count on.
As Duncan advances through the heart of its season, Carrio’s presence remains as crucial as ever. With experience, skill, and a team-first mindset, he represents the consistency and character that define Duncan basketball.
