2025 Altus Boys Basketball Preview – Presented by The Enchanted Door

The Altus Bulldogs are coming off a challenging season last year that saw them end with a 4-21 record. But this year, they are starting with a clean slate and bringing determination and experience under their second-year head coach, Andrew Tuan. With seven seniors returning, this group is motivated to compete at a higher level and take the next step toward consistent success. The team brings improved depth, versatility, and a renewed focus on playing fast-paced, disciplined basketball.

The Bulldogs return a strong mix of guards who can provide different offensive options and a versatile frontcourt capable of impacting the game on both ends of the floor. This combination gives the team the tools to push the pace offensively while remaining tough and competitive on defense. The coaching staff has emphasized fundamentals, teamwork, and defensive intensity throughout the offseason, and the players have responded with energy and commitment.

One of the key leaders for Altus will be junior Levi Hunter. Standing six-foot-four, Hunter started most of last season’s games and is capable of scoring at all three levels. Whether attacking the rim, pulling up from midrange, or hitting shots from the perimeter, Levi is a matchup problem for opposing teams. Beyond his scoring, he brings a relentless work ethic, positive attitude, and emerging vocal leadership, setting an example for his teammates in practice and in games.

The returning senior class provides experience and stability, and they will be counted on to guide the younger players and maintain consistency throughout the season. The blend of seasoned players and emerging talent is expected to improve the team’s overall execution, from defensive rotations to fast-break opportunities and half-court offensive sets.

While wins were limited last season, the Bulldogs enter this year with renewed optimism and a focus on growth. The goal is not just to compete, but to establish a culture of hard work, accountability, and teamwork that carries into the postseason. By February, Altus hopes to be playing its best basketball, with a confident, cohesive team ready to challenge every opponent.
