Coming off a 27-3 campaign and a trip to the state semifinals, the Chattanooga Lady Warriors are once again poised to make noise in Class B basketball. Under the steady leadership of Head Coach Billy Karr, now entering his seventh year at the helm, the Warriors return a mix of veteran leadership and promising talent ready to keep the program among the state’s elite.
Despite graduating several key contributors, Chattanooga brings back two starters and a deep supporting cast that gained valuable minutes last season. “We were very deep last year, and that experience will help us a lot,” Karr said. “We have good size, quickness, and the depth to make another long playoff run.”

Leading the charge is senior guard Maecy Fischer (5-7, Sr.), the team’s top returning scorer at 12 points per game. Fischer is known for her shooting touch, but she’s expanded her game to become a more versatile offensive threat. “Maecy was our go-to last year,” Karr said. “She’s improved her ability to attack the basket and make plays for others. She’s really developed into a complete player.”

Junior forward Ella Mebane (5-10, Jr.) is another player to watch. At five-foot-ten”, she provides length, strength, and a growing offensive presence inside. “Ella might be our best player by the end of the year,” Karr said. “She was playing at a very high level to close last season, and she has the potential to be dominant.”
Senior forward Jacilayne Cassell (5-10, Sr.) also returns after overcoming a knee injury that sidelined her during last year’s holiday break. Cassell’s toughness and leadership, both on and off the court, give the Warriors a major boost.
Rounding out the senior core are guards Mia Wyatt (5-3, Sr.) and Gracen Wolfe (5-2, Sr.), who bring energy, quickness, and steady ball-handling to the lineup.
With talent, depth, and championship experience, Chattanooga looks ready to make another deep postseason run. As Coach Karr puts it, “This group has the pieces, it’s just about putting it all together.”
