The Chattanooga Warriors are ready to take another step forward in the 2025-2026 season. Coming off a 17-10 record, Head Coach Billy Karr, now in his seventh year leading the program, has a veteran squad returning four starters along with a key addition who could help push the Warriors deep into the postseason.
“This is a group with a lot of experience,” Karr said. “We’ve got solid guard play and one of the most talented big men in the class. If we can learn to play together and mesh as a unit, I think by playoff time we can be really tough to beat.”
At the heart of the lineup is Jace Skocelas (6-7, Sr.), a senior forward and move-in from Big Pasture who is expected to make an immediate impact. Skocelas averaged 16 points and 12 rebounds last season and brings a rare blend of size, skill, and game control. “There won’t be many players in our class better than Jace,” Karr said. “He’s got the ability to take over a game and make everyone around him better.”
Returning senior Cooper Loftin (6-1, Sr.) was the team’s top performer a year ago, averaging 12 points and 4 rebounds. A steady leader and versatile scorer, Loftin’s leadership and energy set the tone for the Warriors. “We go as he goes,” Karr said. “He understands his new role this year, but he’s still a huge part of our success.”
Chattanooga’s lineup is full of veteran presence with seniors Jack Denny (6-2, Sr.), Owyn McCoin (6-0, Sr.), Corbin Robbins (5-8, Sr.), and Evan Wauqua (5-9, Sr.), all capable of contributing on both ends of the floor. Robbins anchors the backcourt with his defense and passing, while McCoin and Denny add athleticism and rebounding on the wings.
A name to watch for the future is Jonas Baltierra, a talented sophomore guard with tremendous upside. “The sky’s the limit once he figures everything out,” Karr said.
With experience, balance, and a dominant post presence, the Warriors have the pieces to be dangerous once they hit their stride. If this group continues to grow together, don’t be surprised to see Chattanooga making noise in the postseason.
