MARLOW OUTLAWS
Coach: KIRK HARRIS
2024-25: 20-8
The Marlow Outlaws boys basketball team has a fresh look and a lot of excitement for what’s ahead. After a strong 20-8 campaign last year, head coach Kirk Harris and his squad are focused on reloading and building around a promising group of young, talented players who are eager to step into bigger roles.
“We lost four starters from last year’s team, so this will definitely be a new group,” Harris said. “We don’t return a lot of experience, but we’ve got size, depth, and a lot of hungry players who are ready to compete.”
While the Outlaws will be breaking in several new faces, the future looks bright thanks to a standout sophomore class that Harris believes could be special. “Our sophomore group was one of the best junior high teams we’ve had in a while,” he said. “They’re competitive, they play hard, and they’re learning quickly what it takes at the varsity level.”
Among that young group are Beckham Bishop (6-1, So.) and Brody Bishop (6-1, So.), a pair of guards who bring energy and skill to the backcourt. Both can handle the ball, shoot from outside, and defend with intensity.
In the frontcourt, Jackson Miller (6-3, Jr.) anchors the middle with his rebounding and post presence, while seniors Boomer Brooks (6-1, Sr.), Major Fleetwood (6-1, Sr.), and Thomas Williams (6-2, Sr.) add leadership and toughness to the rotation. Juniors Jake Pettit (6-2, Jr.), Austen Harris (6-1, Jr.), Brendan Weber (6-2, Jr.), and Avery Foster (6-0, Jr.) also bring versatility and depth across multiple positions, giving the Outlaws options and flexibility.
The senior guards Peyton Powell (5-9, Sr.) and Patrick Derichsweiler (5-7, Sr.) provide valuable experience and steady leadership, helping guide the younger players through the season’s ups and downs.
Even with a new lineup, the Outlaws’ trademark intensity and work ethic remain the same. “We may be young, but this group competes every day,” Harris said. “They’ve got great chemistry and a lot of pride in representing Marlow basketball.”
With their size, depth, and youthful energy, the Outlaws are ready to surprise people and continue the proud winning tradition in Marlow.
