Cache’s Kenyon Sweat – Football Spotlight – Presented by Nancy Holcomb State Farm Agent

For Cache High School sophomore Kenyon Sweat, athletics are more than just a pastime, they’re a way of life. A three-sport standout, Sweat excels in football, basketball, and track, where his speed, versatility, and relentless competitiveness set him apart.

On the football field, he takes on multiple roles as a running back, wide receiver, and safety, always ready to make an impact wherever his team needs him. On the basketball court, he battles in the paint as a forward, bringing energy and toughness. But perhaps his most eye-catching achievements have come in track and field. As a freshman, Sweat was third in the nation in the long jump, setting a school record with a leap of 23’1”. He also contributes to the Bulldogs’ 4×100 relay team, proving his athleticism knows no limits.

Motivated by doubters, Sweat thrives on competition. “I’m very competitive,” he said. “Proving people wrong keeps me going.” That mindset is fueled by family support, especially from his grandmother, who has been his biggest fan. “Granny is a die-hard sports fan. She always supports me and comes to my games,” he shared. He also credits his science teacher, Miles Thompson, whose energy and dedication in the classroom inspire him to work harder in every area of life.

Sweat believes success comes from dedication, early mornings, late nights, and coaches who push him to improve, combined with a willingness to listen and learn. His proudest moments so far include competing at the varsity level in all his sports as a freshman and immediately contributing to his teams. Rivalries add fuel to his fire, especially when beating Weatherford. He also enjoys the friendly competition with teammate Johnny Canada, another speedster who pushes him in practice.

Kenyon takes pride in his teammates, giving recognition to players like Alex Fowler, who may not always get the spotlight but works tirelessly and gives 100% every day. Off the field, Sweat is active in his church youth group and helps with Special Ed athletics through Cache’s “Partners” program.

A big fan of Oklahoma State football, Sweat dreams of wearing orange and black at the next level. For now, he’s focused on representing Cache with pride. “I love being a Bulldog and playing in front of my hometown,” he said.
