Kaprie Craddock, a rising sophomore at Altus High School is already making waves on the volleyball court. A versatile and dynamic player, Kaprie plays multiple positions—outside, middle, right side, and even serves as a defensive specialist. Her year-round commitment to the sport through school season and club play with Great Plains Volleyball Club (GPVBC) shows just how dedicated she is to her craft.
Making the varsity squad and earning a starting role as a freshman was a major milestone for Kaprie. The moment she heard the crowd chant “She’s a freshman!” after a big kill remains a career highlight. It fueled her drive, which is rooted deeply in her competitive spirit. “My biggest competition is myself,” Kaprie says. “I strive every day to become a better version of who I was yesterday.”
Kaprie’s journey is inspired by the people around her. She credits her former teammate and close friend Keely Brown, now playing at the college level, as her biggest role model. “She pushed me to be better both on and off the court,” Kaprie shares. Coach Garrison has also played a vital role in her development, creating an environment where her competitive fire and joyful personality are embraced and supported.
Faith is at the core of Kaprie’s success. “Everything is in God’s hands,” she says. Her relationship with Christ, paired with a teachable mindset and a genuine love for the game, keeps her grounded. Despite the spotlight often shining on the hitters, Kaprie recognizes the importance of teammates like libero Jordyn Huckins, whose relentless hustle sets the foundation for every play.
Balancing school and athletics takes focus, and Kaprie manages it all by keeping her long-term goals in perspective. Representing Altus is a responsibility she holds with pride. “We may be a small town with a young volleyball program, but when we step on that court, we compete like giants.” With heart, hustle, and humility, Kaprie Craddock is building a legacy one game at a time.
