Elgin Lady Owls – Basketball Preview – Presented by Arvest Bank

ELGIN OWLS

GIRLS

Coach: Tanner Meraz

23-24 Record: 14-12

With each new season comes some level of change. For the Lady Owls, this will be a season of changes but head coach Tanner Meraz does not think that is a bad thing. “This year will be a rebuilding year,” Meraz said. “We have had a lot of changes on our roster, girls in spots they have not been before. With a tough district this year we will need to be ready to step up and play big roles this season. We are looking forward to getting started.” Sabrina Williams is a hard worker that always gives one hundred percent at whatever she is doing. Her basketball IQ is high and she is a three level scorer. Williams has the ability to play anywhere from the post to the perimeter and have an impact. A very talented sophomore, Lilly Taliaferro is someone that could have a big year. She is relentless on defense and can score on all three levels. Addyson Hatfield is a new member of the team. She moved to Oklahoma from Virginia. She is a hard worker, always doing whatever is asked of her. Always ready to help her team in any way that she can, Kynslie Maples is the type of kid you always want on your team. She does everything right, is very smart, and a very high character kid.
