Weatherford Mom of the Month – Jamie Crisp – Presented by Weatherford Chiropractic Clinic

Jamie Crisp is the mother of two. Her daughter, Maddie, is a 2020 graduate of Weatherford High School. As an Eagle, she was a member of the school’s soccer team and she also played recreational and competitive soccer outside of school. Jamie’s son Jake is in his senior year at Weatherford and he plays soccer, football, and is a member of the track team.

Crisp says that having kids that compete in sports can make for a busy life, but she would not trade it for anything.

“With both kids playing soccer since they were little, it involved a lots time going to and from practices, games and out of town games and tournaments,” she said. “One of the best things about being involved is getting to know all the players. Being a sports mom means you have a lot of extra bonus children. Team dinners are the best you see them all laughing playing games and just enjoy being a part of a team. I love cheering for each and every one of them.”

Jamie and her husband own an agricultural business and she is able to work from home. She is thankful for this because it gives her the opportunity to be there for her kids and most of their activities and events. She enjoys being there for her kids, even though it goes by so fast.

“The toughest part of being a parent of a high school athlete is that it all comes to an end way too soon,” she said. “I will miss watching them play. I will miss all the road trips to and from games and tournaments no matter how far away.”

Over the years of her kids competing, Crisp has been able to get to know other sports parents and grow those relationships.

“I count myself as lucky to have great parents to work along side of with both my kids high school days,” she said. “You get to work with so many other parents in different sports. This years senior group of parents is exceptional several of us started together last year through football season to prom and this year football to graduation. My soccer moms are family.  Through my kids sports I have made some of the greatest friends for life.”
