
VYPE: What grade are you in?
Jaylen: I am a junior at Weatherford High School.
VYPE: What school do you go to?
Jaylen: Weatherford
VYPE: What sports do you play?
Jaylen: Golf
VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?
Jaylen: I recently broke 90 for the first time while shooting 87 in a high school golf tournament.
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?
Jaylen: Golf has taught me the importance of perseverance and integrity. It has also made me realize how vital your mental game is to compete, not just your physical skill.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?
Jaylen: During my freshmen year, there was a senior, Rachel Carruth, who earned All State Golf. Not only was she a great golfer she was also one of our strongest singers in choir. I looked up to her passion, work ethic and positive attitude. She welcomed me with open arms and made my freshman year enjoyable, giving me the desire to continue in golf.
VYPE: Are you involved in any other activities at Weatherford?
Jaylen: I am involved in choir and musical theatre. I made All State Choir each year from seventh through eleventh grades so far. Also involved in Key Club, Student Council, and the National Honor Society.
VYPE: What are you involved in outside of school?
Jaylen: I am part of the youth group at my church.

Jaylen: I want to thank my dad for teaching me the game of golf and taking me to the course starting when I was four or five years old.
