Mountain View-Gotebo’s Morgan Dooley – FFA Spotlight – Presented by Cattlemens Bank

It was 2022 when Mountain View-Gotebo’s Morgan Dooley first joined her FFA chapter at school. She was only in the eighth grade. Thanks to the encouragement of a few family members, Dooley made the decision to give it a try.

“My parents, grandpa and two of my uncles were heavily involved in FFA and raising swine,” said Dooley.

Since then, Dooley has represented her school at FFA events and has competed in several disciplines over the last three years.

“What I enjoy the most are the lifelong friends that I have made because of this organization. I also value the life and leadership skills that FFA has taught me,” Dooley said. “I’m involved in Vet Science team, Opening/Closing ceremonies, 2023-24 MVG FFA Reporter and I show livestock. I also had my own sow herd for several years and raised my own show pigs.”

Dooley has shown livestock since the age of six.

“I have shown pigs since I was six years old and I also showed sheep for two years,” said Dooley.

Now a sophomore, Dooley also competes in fastpitch softball, basketball and slow-pitch softball in the spring. She’s also a member of the FCA and Student Council. Dooley said the biggest influence in her life is her father.

“My dad is my biggest critic and biggest cheerleader. He has no problem telling me when I need to work harder or do better. He pushes me and keeps me motivated to be my best self,” said Dooley.

After high school, Dooley plans to attend college and possibly pursue a career in agriculture.
