Elk City-Clinton Area Players to Watch: Presented by Great Plains Orthopedics

BASEBALL


Blane Miller – Cordell
Blane Miller is a senior leader on this year’s squad. He plays shortstop, catcher, and he is Cordell’s top pitcher. He has a competitiveness about him that is a great asset to a team that is young. He will be the ace on the mound and one of the top hitters in the lineup. He’s a great kid with a lot of ability and a huge amount of untapped potential.

Cole Buie – Elk City
Cole is an electric athlete. He has started in the outfield since he was a sophomore. Last season, he hit .392 with 20 stolen bases. This season Cole should be on the mound a lot more. Last season he threw 27.1 innings with a 1.029 ERA. Off the field he is just as impressive. He has a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.

Camden Pascher – Weatherford
Camden will be a three year starter for the Eagles. He has played center field, first base, and will be one of the main arms on the mound. He is committed to play baseball at Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

GOLF

Birdie Brown – Cordell Girls
Birdie is a talented junior that can hit the ball solidly off the tee and has great hands when it comes to chipping. She looks to have a big season.

Brayden Duncan – Elk City Boys
An extremely hard worker, Brayden lives at the golf course. He is consistent with his play and more importantly he is a tremendous kid.

Jayden Manning – Elk City Girls
Jayden is a leader on and off the course. The other girls look up to her for direction on what to do in situations on the course and different techniques for practice. She is always willing to help with whatever or wherever she is needed. She is a very valuable asset to the program.

SLOWPITCH SOFTBALL
Dillyn Coe – Hydro-Eakly
She ended last season with a .642 avg, 22 doubles, two triples, and 16 home runs. She is a solid player at short stop, a great teammate, and leader.

TRACK
Presley Evans – Clinton
Presley is the second best long jumper in Clinton school history, jumping 16’ 2.5” last year as a junior. Evans also has the third best 100 hurdle time in school history, running a 17.45 which is not far behind the leading 16.37 record. Presley has been in Clinton track and field since 2021, an has continued to soar each year. She is a determined young lady that achieves goals once she sets them.

Callie Walker – Cordell
Walker is a great kid that works hard and should have an outstanding season.

Campbell Garbarino – Elk City
Campbell is a sophomore this year and her athleticism is off the charts. She is someone that could score in the 100m dash all the way through the 800m at the state meet. She could also score major points in both hurdle races and is the top long jumper in 4A.

James Harrel – Elk City
James is a talented sprinter that will be one of the favorites to win the 100m and 200m. He has aspirations to run at the next level and is working every day to achieve his goals. He is a great leader.

Caden Bussey – Erick
Bussey qualified for state in 2024 in the long jump and finished fourth. He will work to get back again this season.

Baylor Crosby – Erick
Baylor runs the 1600M and continually puts in the hard work to improve his skills.

Zane Allen – Sayre
Zane is a senior and will be a big key to the team’s success this season. He runs anchor leg in the 4×100 relay, anchor leg in the 4×200 relay, the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. He is looking to build off of his success last year, and finish out his senior year standing back on the podium.

Lila Whitney – Sayre
Lila will be a key reason why the girls track team can be successful this year. She is a leader, hardworking, and never shies away from the moment. She brings a great attitude everyday to practice, and lifts up and supports her teammates. She knows what it takes to succeed in this sport, and is willing to put in the time and effort to give her the best chance.
