CORDELL BLUE DEVILS
Coach: NICK BOBECK
0-9
OFFENSE
After a rebuilding season in 2023, the Cordell Blue Devils are entering the 2024 campaign with a renewed sense of purpose and optimism. Head coach Nick Bobeck and his staff—including assistants Jacoby Mitchell and John Williams—are working hard to develop a competitive and physical team that’s hungry for growth and success. With a mix of veteran leadership and promising young talent, Cordell is ready to turn the corner and take the next step forward. The Blue Devils are looking to make significant strides on offense this fall. With a more seasoned group up front, Cordell’s offensive line should be one of the team’s strengths. Leading the way is senior Samuel Lindsey, a tough, dependable presence who brings size, strength, and leadership to the trenches. He will be joined by junior Gideon Thompson, another physical lineman who plays with grit and intensity. One player to watch is sophomore Conner Gregg, a versatile tight end who could become a key part of the passing game. Gregg has the frame and athleticism to be a reliable target, and his ability to block adds another layer to the offense. Coach Bobeck and the staff are excited about the development of their younger players, and with a full offseason of work under their belts, expect more consistency and better execution across the board. If the Blue Devils can establish the run and protect the quarterback, they’ll be in position to put points on the board this year.
DEFENSE
Defensively, the Blue Devils are focused on building a unit that can swarm to the football and finish plays. Much like the offense, the defensive front will be anchored by veterans Lindsey and Thompson, who will be called upon to control the line of scrimmage and disrupt opposing offenses. Gregg will also contribute on the defensive line, using his length and quickness to pressure quarterbacks and chase down ball carriers. With increased depth and a renewed defensive identity, Cordell is committed to becoming tougher and more disciplined on this side of the ball. Look for a more aggressive and confident Blue Devil defense to set the tone in 2024.
