by Scott Metz

Clinton High School senior DanyElla RedShin is a multisport athlete, playing volleyball, basketball, and soccer for the Clinton High School Red Tornadoes.  For volleyball, DanyElla plays the position of outside, in basketball, she plays shooting guard, and for soccer, DanyElla plays the position of outside left defender. Many would consider DanyElla a veteran athlete, having played volleyball for 4 years, basketball for five years, and played soccer for almost her entire life.

In regards to a teacher or member of the school faculty who stands out as the most memorable person, DanyElla did not hesitate. “There are definitely two people that stand out, Mark Seiter, along with his wife, Emma Seiter. Mark was my freshman basketball coach, while his wife, Emma Seiter, was my freshman volleyball coach. Besides being my volleyball coach, Emma was my Street Law and History teacher. Mark made me enjoy playing sports, and because of him, I wanted to play basketball in high school. Every time I see Mark in the halls, or anywhere, he would always acknowledge me wherever I was- even if it was just a simple ‘hey, how are you doing?’”

DanyElla looks towards her family for her role models. “I look up to my oldest brother, David. He had a big impact on my life, along with my older sisters. I also look up to my mom; she has just been there for me my whole life, and she just gets me. I feel the same way about my uncles.”

As far as what it has taken DanyElla to become successful in sports, she believes in the mantra of “Practice makes perfect.”

DanyElla has her plate full when it comes to sports and extracurriculars, as in addition to playing sports, she is a member of both the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America as well as a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After graduating from high school, DanyElla plans on pursuing higher education. DanyElla stated, “I plan to go to college and obtain a Master’s Degree in Sports Management, if I do not get the chance to play volleyball in undergrad.”
