CANUTE TROJANS

Coach: BROCK STEFFES

OUTLOOK

Coming off a strong 22-8 season and an appearance in the area tournament, the Canute Trojans are looking to build on their success with a talented roster. Head coach Brock Steffes is optimistic about the team’s prospects. “We return the entire squad this year, which gives us great continuity and experience,” Steffes said. “We expect to be a top 8 team in the state.”

The Trojans’ offense will be led by four-year starter Jaxon Beck (5-10, 165, Sr.), who averaged 20 points per game last season and is closing in on the 2,000-point career mark. “Jaxon is sitting at 1490 points for career, should go over 2000 points.” With several small colleges expressing interest, Beck will be a player to watch this season.

Supporting Beck is Keaton Whinery (5-9, 165, Jr.), a dynamic point guard who contributes 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds per game. Keaton brings energy and vision to the offense. He’s the engine that makes the team go, always finding ways to involve his teammates. Jake Beutler (6-0, 185, Jr.) and Luke Spitz (6-3, 190, Jr.) add versatility in the frontcourt, with Beutler averaging 12 points and 7 rebounds per game. Cooper Bartlett (5-11, 146, Sr.) will also make an impact offensively and on the boards. The Trojans will rely on their deep, balanced lineup to keep defenses guessing.

Defensively, the Trojans are focused on maintaining intensity throughout the season. With everyone returning, the chemistry on defense is already solid, and they are ready to take the next step.

Anchoring the defense is Nate Bryant (6-1, 210, Jr.), who adds size and strength in the paint. Clay Randall (5-9, 145, Jr.) provides quickness and hustle on the perimeter, ensuring the Trojans have a solid defensive presence. They will rely on gang rebounding and smart rotations to keep games in their favor. With high expectations and a roster packed with experience, the Canute Trojans are primed to make a deep run this season.
