CANUTE TROJANS

COACH: Bobby Blackburn

OUTLOOK

Coming off a championship spring and a runner-up finish in the fall, the Canute Trojans enter the season with confidence, experience, and expectations under head coach Bobby Blackburn. With a deep, mature roster and a proven pitching staff, Canute is positioned to remain one of the premier programs in Class A.

“Very excited,” Blackburn said. “Eight starters back from Spring Class AII Champions. Fall State Runner-Up this year. Lots of experience and maturity. Strong pitching staff. Five LH bats in the lineup.”

That experience is led by Jake Beutler, a dynamic two-way standout who sets the tone on both sides of the game. “Outstanding player,” Blackburn said. “Signed with Texas Tech. LHP who can dominate. Swings with power and is outstanding on the base paths. Covers a lot of ground in CF. High baseball IQ with total commitment to his craft and the game.” Beutler’s presence on the mound, at the plate, and in the outfield gives the Trojans a difference-maker every time he steps on the field.

Another name drawing attention is underclassman Boston Baker, whose versatility and upside add even more depth to an already loaded roster. “High ceiling. Already gaining lots of attention,” Blackburn said. “RHP, bats LH. Can play anywhere. Great hands and arm. Most comfortable at SS and in CF.” Baker’s ability to contribute in multiple roles make him a key piece now and for the future.

Leadership and character are embodied by Nate Bryant. “Signed with USAO as a RHP,” Blackburn said. “Great command of his pitches. Competitor and leader of the team. Very respectful and caring young man.” Bryant’s presence anchors the pitching staff and reinforces the culture Canute prides itself on.

That culture is also fueled by Clay Randall, a key contributor on the field. “Heart and soul of the team,” Blackburn said. “Signed with USAO as RHP. Great glove man. Can play anywhere. Sets us up as our leadoff on the left side. Brings energy every day. Loves to play the game.”

Rounding out the roster is senior Teague Farris, another important piece of Canute’s success. “Signed with NOC Enid,” Blackburn said. “Great hands, bat speed. Hustles everywhere he goes. High intensity guy.”

With championship experience, elite pitching, and leadership throughout the roster, the Canute Trojans are built to make another deep run and continue setting the standard in Class A baseball.
