Arapaho-Butler’s PiperRilee Sawatzky -Softball Spotlight – Presented by Pepsi Cola of Clinton, OK

At Arapaho-Butler, senior PiperRilee Sawatzky has used athletics as more than just an outlet for competition. They’ve been the place where her drive, faith, and effort have pushed her toward success and leadership.

PiperRilee began her sports journey at the age of four, quickly discovering her love for the ballfield. That early passion turned into a drive to compete not only against others but against herself, constantly pushing to become the best version of who she could be. “Every challenge has been an opportunity to reinvent myself,” she said. That mindset has led her to excel in fastpitch as a pitcher, slow-pitch in the middle outfield, and as a 300m hurdler in track.

Motivation for PiperRilee comes from her parents, whom she calls her greatest influences. They’ve been her backbone, teaching her to compete, rise after failure, and trust in her own ability. Their sacrifices have been a guiding force, and along with her faith in God, a supportive family, and strong friendships, PiperRilee has built a foundation that keeps her grounded while aiming for greatness.

Her success hasn’t come without sacrifice. Countless hours of practice, strict attention to nutrition and conditioning, and the discipline to balance school, athletics, and activities have demanded tough choices. “There were times I had to miss activities with friends or family,” she admits, “but those decisions kept me on the path toward my goals.” That focus has paid off—highlight moments include competing in the 10U World Series televised on ESPN, playing in multiple State Tournaments, and sharing the field with her sister in her final high school game.

As the solo senior on her team this year, representing her school and community carries special weight. She leads by example, fueled by pride, faith, and the desire to leave behind a legacy of teamwork and excellence.

Looking ahead, PiperRilee is committed to playing softball at Oklahoma City University, where she will also pursue a law degree. For her, the journey is far from over. “The highlight of my career has yet to come,” she said. “The sky is the limit.”
