VYPE: What grade are you currently in this year and how long have you been playing volleyball?
Alivia Loney: I’m a sophomore and I have played volleyball for four years now.
VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
AL: My favorite school subject is English and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Schaumburg.
VYPE: Who has been a big influence in your life and why?
AL: Braylee Schmidt has been a huge influence on me. She has always encouraged me and helped me to be the best I can. I’m also blessed to play next to Emma Rateree, she’s such a constant on the back row and always knows what to say.
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
AL: I’m not sure of everything after highschool but I definitely want to go to college.
VYPE: What opponent do you look forward to playing this year?
AL: I’m excited for our game against Christian Heritage, we played them once in our tournament this year and it will be fun to compete against them again. They’re a good team but we’ve progressed a lot since we played them.
VYPE: What other groups or clubs are you involved in at the school?
AL: I’m involved in student council and choir.
VYPE: Jump serve or standing serve? Which do you prefer and why?
AL: I prefer jump serving, it gives me more power.
VYPE: What teammate is always going to the floor for a dig?
AL: Viva Bluth, Camdon Falasco and Bralie Epp are always making saves in practice and games.
VYPE: Who is the best setter on the team?
AL: I love both of my setters, the relationship I have with each one is different, but Henzlee and Saylor are both really fun to hit off of.
