MOUNTAIN VIEW-GOTEBO TIGERS
Coach: JEFF COAKLEY
4-7
OFFENSE
The Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers enter the 2024 season with confidence and a solid core of returning players. Under the direction of head coach Jeff Coakley, the Tigers are aiming to turn close losses into wins and make a push toward a winning season and a deeper postseason run. With leadership on both sides of the ball and a foundation of toughness and effort, this group is ready to take the next step. The Tigers’ offense will be built around quarterback Creed Tointigh (5-9, 165, Jr.), a dynamic athlete and three-year starter. Tointigh made his mark as a freshman by setting the school’s single-season rushing record, and he returns as the heartbeat of the offense. Fast, physical, and football-savvy, he has the ability to take over games with both his legs and his decision-making. Joining him in the backfield is hard-nosed running back Trigger Troglin (5-10, 165, Jr.), a tough runner who will help carry the load. Tight end Mason Smith (6-0, 175, Sr.) provides a reliable target in the passing game and contributes as a blocker, while linemen Zander Watson (5-10, 220, Jr.), Daniel Essary (6-1, 275, Jr.), and Cash Hobbs (6-5, 240, Jr.) give the offense a physical presence up front. Their continued development will be key to controlling the line of scrimmage and opening up the ground game.
DEFENSE
On the defensive side of the ball, the Tigers will rely on a mix of returning experience and young talent. Bayler Bristow (5-8, 155, Jr.) headlines the secondary after leading the team with six interceptions last season. He’s a smart, athletic cornerback with excellent hands and instincts, making him a threat to flip momentum at any time. His leadership and work ethic set the tone in the defensive backfield. Up front, Kyp Moore (5-10, 210, So.) brings toughness and physicality to the defensive line, anchoring a group that will look to slow down opposing run games. Tointigh will also be a two-way standout, contributing his speed and toughness to the defensive unit. If the Tigers can stay healthy and build on last season’s growth, they have the pieces in place to surprise some teams in 2024.
