CLINTON RED TORNADOS
Coach: JOHN HIGBEE
9-3
OFFENSE
Toughness and tradition are very much alive in Clinton. The Red Tornados scratched and clawed their way to eight victories and a first-round road win at Blanchard in 2024. Quarterback Easton Powell (6-0, 180, So.) might be the next great player at Clinton. Powell is the younger brother of former state champion quarterback Caden Powell. He stepped in at the position late in the year and showed poise and leadership beyond his years. Darren Hester (5-11, 175, Sr.), Jaden Potter (5-6, 165, Jr.) and Trenair Collins (5-10, 165, Fr.) make up for their lack of experience with loads of potential at running back. Hester averaged almost ten yards per carry on limited opportunities a year ago. Potter is shifty and elusive in the open field and Collins is ready to take a spot in the lineup with the varsity. Ethan Lofland (6-3, 220, Jr.) adds size at tight end and will help bridge the gap in developing some new faces on the offensive line. Brayden Fuller (6-0, 255, Sr.) returns as the starting right tackle with Connor Richardson (6-1, 235, Sr.) and Alex Amaya (6-1, 235, Jr.) ready to take on bigger roles up front.
DEFENSE
Most of the same players will be asked to contribute on defense as well. Clinton will be low on numbers in 2025, but that hasn’t stopped them from producing winning seasons. Easton Powell will double up at linebacker where he also saw action last year as a freshman. Brayden Fuller’s size will come in handy at nose guard with Connor Richardson, Ethan Lofland and Alex Amaya all adding to the efforts up front. The secondary is the most experienced area of the defense. Darren Hester likely will move from safety to corner with Trenair Collins also slated for action at the position. Jaden Potter draws on his wrestling skill as an above average tackler at safety. The Red Tornadoes are expecting around 40 players to report for the season. Those numbers will be quite a bit lower than most of the teams on their schedule. But excuses are non-existent at this western Oklahoma powerhouse. Clinton will be right back in the middle of the district title chase.
