Lamiyah Brown – Madill High School

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Lamiyah: That would be Mrs Potter, my English teacher from sophomore year. She was inspiring, uplifting and a great mentor for me. She was the coolest teacher I’ve ever had.

Gilberto: Coach Shaw, my history teacher during my junior year and football coach. He made history fun and always incorporated life lessons in his class.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Lamiyah: I would say E’Niyah Holmes has left the biggest impression on me with her leadership and work ethic. Even while recovering from a knee injury, she’s pushing herself to come back stronger, inspiring me to keep working hard.

Gilberto: Ethan Wilkerson. Playing alongside him for two years was great. He was a great leader and practicing with him helped me improve my game.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Lamiyah: I look up to Stephen Curry because he’s an amazing player and has worked so hard to get where he is. He changed the game with his shooting and always stays humble.

Gilberto: I look up to Naz Reid for being a humble player and always doing what’s best for his team to win.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Lamiyah: That is spaghetti for sure!

Gilberto: Steak and lobster

Gilberto Grimaldo – Madill High School

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Lamiyah: One of my proudest accomplishments is developing my basketball skills from a young age. I’ve continued to work hard, improving every day and pushing myself. It’s not just about the talent I have, but the dedication and growth that I’m most proud of every practice, every challenge, and every moment that’s made me the player I am today.

Gilberto: My first varsity minutes I got my sophomore year.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Lamiyah: I want to give a shoutout to my dad, my mom, all my siblings, friends and family thanks for everything and the support.

Gilberto: Would like to give a shout out to my family for always supporting me and never missing a game.
