PLAINVIEW INDIANS
GIRLS
Coach: Grant Cash
23-24 Record: 22-5
The Lady Indians have advanced to the Area round of postseason play the past two years. If they want to continue that streak this season, they will need players to step up and fill some roles that were left vacant after graduation last season. Head coach Grant Cash is looking for this year’s team to replace those players and keep on winning. “We are looking to make our third straight trip to the Area Tournament,” he said. “After losing seven seniors last year, there will be new faces on the floor, but those faces will be ready to work hard and step into new roles. With a solid group of juniors and sophomores, and a couple freshmen mixed in, we’re very excited for this upcoming season and can’t wait to see what these girls will accomplish this year.”
“ ”Chloe Coenen is just a freshman but is an exceptional three sport athlete, competing in basketball, cross country, and track. She looks to have a big impact this season for Plainview. Another player that is expected to be a key player is Bailey Fincher. She excels on the softball field, and Cash is excited to see what she does out on the court this year. She is a hard-nosed defender and a good three-point shooter. Ally Brown will run through a brick wall for her teammates and coaches. She never makes excuses, plays through being hurt, and is a true competitor. She takes no plays off and goes up and down the court like each trip is a 100 meter dash. Libby May is not just a good athlete, but a good student, teammate, and person. She is involved in her church and at school and truly does all the little things right.
