PLAINVIEW INDIANS
BOYS
Coach: Deon Stevenson
23-24 Record: 11-14
The Indians are looking to build off of last season and make some noise once the playoffs roll around. Head coach Deon Stevenson likes the makeup of his team and thinks they have the opportunity to have a big year. “I am excited about the mix of returning starters and players stepping into new roles and responsibilities,” coach Stevenson said. “Our success will depend on how quickly we are able to establish identities on both ends of the floor and if we are able to do the little things well.”
“ ”Dane Dickerson (6-2, Sr.) is a fantastic student-athlete who excels on both ends of the floor. He is a solid on-the-ball defender with an improved offensive game that allows him to score at all three levels. Returning starter Carter Fernando (5-11, Jr.) does a great job of scoring off the dribble. He is a relentless competitor with a high motor who is not afraid of the big moment. Freshman Dominique Coursey (6-1, Fr.) is a new face that looks to make a big impact. He has a lot of potential and he showed huge progress over the summer and keeps getting better every time he competes. Draven Pope (6-5, Sr.) has worked very hard to improve his basketball skills. He is a natural shot blocker and rebounder but is learning to recognize offensive patterns and movements to be a better help side defender. Drew Rayburn (5-8, Sr.) is a good basketball player but an even better person. He serves his team and his community and never seems to have a bad day. He is extremely humble and is a hard worker. Other players to keep an eye out for this season are Shepherd Sisemore (6-3, Sr.), Jace Chaney (5-11, Sr.), Luke Daniels (5-10, Jr.), Alec Ladd (6-0, Jr.), and Noah Enriquez (6-0, Jr.).
