“ ”The Lady Longhorns advanced to the Area round of the Class 3A playoffs last season before making an exit. Head coach Jesse Buck’s team has some returners back and is looking forward to this season. “We return one senior and three starters from last season,” Buck said. “This group of girls have been working very hard. We are excited to see what the season has in store.” Madison Torres (5-9, Sr.) is an extremely hard worker, talented defender, and a good three point shooter. She will play a big part in the team’s success this season. Sadie Hockersmith (5-10, Jr.) is a very good scorer in the paint and also has a solid outside shot. She has a high basketball IQ and is a great teammate. In her first year at Lone Grove, Maggie Nance (5-10, So.) has good length and plays good defense. She has a good outside shot on offense. She looks to have a big season for Lone Grove. Rayahna White (5-9, Jr.) plays point guard and does a great job of running the team on offense. She is also a very good defender on defense. She makes great decisions and can shoot the three point shot as well. Gracie Lewis (5-9, So.) is an exceptional defender and rebounder. She brings good energy and toughness to the team. Other members of the team looking to play a role this season are Kallie Wallace (5-10, Jr.), Jadyn Cronley (5-10, So.), Jordyn Rigney (5-10, So.), Kenni Jo Tudor (5-9, Sr.), Natalie Berryhill (5-8, Fr.), Lena Monty (5-11, Fr.), and Aylee Pigg (5-10, Fr.).
