In a small town like Kingston, high school sports are more than just games—they’re part of the town’s heartbeat. And for Blane Henry, a standout junior at Kingston High School, that heartbeat drives him to push harder every day. As a triple athlete, football, basketball, and baseball, Blane wears many hats. On the football field, he holds down the line as a right tackle and nose guard. On the hardwood, he plays the post, and in baseball, you’ll find him playing third base and on the pitcher’s mound. His drive? It’s fueled by the people closest to him.
“My family, coaches, and girlfriend are my biggest motivators,” he shared. “Even on my worst days, they push me to be the best player I can be. I want to be part of a winning program and someone my teammates can count on.” He credits Coach Jones as the teacher who’s had the biggest impact on his life. “It’s the way he treats me and what he’s done for me—he’s always been there.”
Dedication and commitment are the backbone of his success. “Even when life gets hard, I stay locked in. I buy into the little things to get as close to perfection as I can,” he said. That focus led to one of his proudest accomplishments: starting on both sides of the ball as a freshman and beating Davis at their home stadium. When it comes to rivalries, nothing gets Blane fired up like a matchup against Madill. “We’ve had a lopsided history with them, but those games mean everything to me.”
Blane says his toughest competition has come from his own teammates—especially the upperclassmen from previous years. “They were always bigger and stronger. Competing with them pushed me to work harder.” He also takes pride in the culture of his team. “It’s important that everyone respects the process and understands the work it takes to be successful here,” he said. “This program has a standard, and I want to help make sure we all live up to it.”
Outside of sports, Blane is involved in FFA and school spirit events like pep rallies. His favorite person to follow on social media is Jason Kelce—not just for his success as a longtime NFL center, but for being “an amazing dad, husband, and teammate.” Blane knows balancing athletics and school isn’t easy. “It takes time management and sacrifice. But it’s worth it when you step onto that field in front of your school and community. I never want to let them down.”
Hard rock sets the tone for Blane on game days—he sticks to the same playlist every time. His favorite NFL player right now is Myles Garrett, but of all time, it’s J.J. Watt. Dream schools? OU or OSU, both have Power Five programs close to home. And if he weren’t playing football? “I’d be playing baseball,” he said.
Blane Henry is the kind of athlete every team wants—tough, loyal, and built for the grind. Kingston fans can expect big things from him in the seasons to come.
