Davis’ Brendyn Pierce – Golf Spotlight – Presented by A C Lockerooms Self Storage

In each of our lives, there are people that influence us and help shape us into who we are. Whether they are part of our everyday lives or are there for just a season of life, the impact that they make can be huge. Brendyn Pierce has a few people in his life that fit that criteria.

“The two biggest role models in my life are my grandpa, Dean Digby, and coach Parker, my football coach. They both were and are old school blue collar men. They both taught me if you work hard good things happen. Also, my teacher, Mr. Teakell. He helped me manage and navigate my course work both on the golf course and in the classroom.”

Pierce is a junior at Davis High School, where he plays football and golf. He is also a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Wearing the Davis uniform when he competes is something that Pierce does not take for granted and is proud to be able to do.

“It means everything,” he said. “I’ve watched my brother, sister, and cousins play in and win State Championships and it’s bigger than yourself. At Davis, we play for the name on the front not the back. A lot of our families have been here our entire life. I’m a fourth-generation Davis student. We are one big family down here. Tradition runs deep in Davis.”

Becoming a successful athlete is not something that just happens overnight. It takes a lot of time, effort, and dedication to continually improve your skills and get better.

“Hard work and determination are important keys to success,” Brendyn said. “Honestly, people who doubt my team and I are the biggest motivation. Another big motivator for me is to make my family and community proud.”

As a competitor in multiple sports, Pierce has experienced a lot of moments that he is proud of. But he says that there are a few that stand out for him.

“In my golf career, it would be qualifying for the state golf tournament as a team,” Brendyn stated. “In my football career, our state title run this past year, both unforgettable moments in my athletic career.”
