Who has won an impressive six rings, two trophies, two medals, an MVP bracelet for softball, and four medals in tennis?? Teagan Combs. Teagan is a freshman at Ardmore High School and participates in softball, tennis, and choir. Her favorite sports moment is when she got the winning hit for her softball team in 2023 for 12U. Her highest achievement so far in her career is when her team made it to nationals in softball in 2023. Her favorite part about softball is having good hits and striking the other team out.
Teagan’s favorite subject is history, because she “loves to understand the past of our country and other countries.” Her favorite teacher is her track coach, Mrs. Allen, because “she’s really funny and helps me with any type of problem that I’m struggling with.” For fun, Teagan likes to go shopping, watch movies, and hang out with her friends. After high school, she plans to attend the University of Oklahoma, playing softball and studying to become a physical therapist.
“ ”To Teagan, pushing through adversity and staying positive is what it takes to be a great athlete. Her parents introduced her to softball at a very young age, and has been actively playing for ten years. The person that keeps her motivated is her Paw-paw. Even though he passed in 2020, she still feels his encouragement when she’s out on the field. Teagan’s biggest role model is Cydney Sanders from the OU softball team, because “she’s a hard worker and knows how to play the game.” The people that have made the biggest positive impacts on her life is God and her family.
Sports have taught Teagan that hard work and determination pays off. Her advice to her fellow athletes is to “always keep your head high and believe in yourself.”
