When an athlete competes, they are wearing the uniform of the team that they are a part of. How they carry themselves and act while they are playing and when they are not playing not only reflects on them, but also on the school or organization that they are part of. Riley Noble is a senior at Ardmore High School and she knows what it means to wear the Ardmore Tiger uniform.
“It means that I am a representative of my school and there is a lot of responsibility that comes with it,” she said. “It pushes me to set a good example inside and outside of the classroom. It makes me want to be the best version of myself that I can be.”
Riley is a captain on the Tiger’s pom squad. Outside of pom, she is also a member of the National Honor Society, serves as Student Class President in the Student Council, and is Vice-President of Leaflets.
As a part of the pom squad, Noble has invested a lot into so that she can be successful.
“ ”“It takes a lot of time and motivation,” she stated. “But I know if I put my mind to it and trust my teammates I can be successful. I am motivated by my future. I have set goals for myself and will do anything to achieve them.”
Along with all the work, Riley has had a number of people that have had an impact on her life and helped shape her into the person that she is today.
“My biggest influences are my mom and my coach/dance teacher Emily Orr,” Noble said. “They have always pushed me to be the best person and dancer that I can be and have always supported me through the good and tough times. Coach Birth has had the biggest impact on my life as a teacher. He truly cares and loves his students. He not only was a great teacher, but he also has taught me that being a good person is worth more than anything.”
The teammates that she cheers alongside is a group that Riley says she is proud to be a part of.
“Everyone on our team is appreciated and we all support each other so much,” she said. “I love working against my other captain Audrey. She pushes me to be a better dancer and captain everyday.”
