At just a sophomore, Ka’lahna Taylor is already making her mark as a three-sport athlete at Ardmore High School. Whether she’s commanding the infield as a shortstop, running the court as a point guard, or pushing herself in track, Taylor’s athletic journey is fueled by a commitment to growth, discipline, and leadership.
For Ka’lahna, sports are about more than just competition, they’re about building confidence and character. She credits consistent effort, maintaining positive body language, and displaying discipline as the cornerstones of her success. “Personal growth is something I focus on every day,” she explained. “It’s about working hard, leading by example, and always finding ways to get better.”
Her athletic development hasn’t happened by accident. Behind the scenes, countless hours of practice and dedication have shaped her into the versatile competitor she is today. She acknowledges the strong support system of her family, her mom, dad, brother, and sister, who motivate her to push past challenges and keep striving for more.
Ka’lahna also draws inspiration from her teammates, recognizing the value of each player. She points out that one of the least appreciated athletes on the team is Madisyn Halstied, who often goes overlooked despite her talent. “She has a lot of potential, always has a positive attitude, and is a great hitter,” Ka’lahna said, noting how important it is to celebrate every player’s contributions.
Representing Ardmore High School is a responsibility Ka’lahna takes to heart. She feels honored to wear the uniform, knowing she follows in the footsteps of many great athletes who paved the way before her. “I’m working hard to be the next great athlete from Ardmore,” she said with pride.
Equally important is the support of the Ardmore community. The energy from fans in the stands and the encouragement from those who cheer her on provide motivation to keep improving. “My community is a big deal to me,” she said. “Their presence and support at games mean everything.”
