Ardmore’s Benson Le – Football Spotlight – Presented by Owens Insurance Agency

Ardmore High School senior Benson Le has built his high school career around hard work, grit, and dedication to his teammates. A standout in both football and powerlifting, Le plays offensive left guard and defensive tackle, where his toughness in the trenches has made him a dependable force for the Tigers.

For Le, motivation comes from the people closest to him. “My family and my brothers on the team push me every day,” he said. His father has been a particularly strong influence, along with the lessons he’s learned from the weight room and football itself. “They’ve all taught me valuable life lessons,” Le explained.

Le also credits those who’ve guided him along the way. Former teacher Phil McGinnis made a lasting impact with simple encouragement. “All he ever said was ‘try,’” Le recalled. He also points to the Ardmore coaching staff, especially Coach Coley, who first introduced him to football and set him on a path that continues to shape who he is today.

Success in football and powerlifting doesn’t come easy. “It takes a lot of mental work and effort to be where I am today,” Le said. That dedication has fueled some of his most memorable moments, including the thrill of his first career win last year, a victory that also marked the team’s first game of the season. Rivalries also drive him, especially against Ada. “They’re the number one team I like beating because of the rivalry,” he said.

Le’s appreciation for his teammates runs deep. He works closely with lineman Chenoah Joe, who plays beside him on offense and challenges him on defense. “We work and play the same, and we push each other to get better,” Le said.

Representing Ardmore High School means more than just putting on a jersey for Le. “It means a lot because I feel there are a lot of people counting on me, and a lot of haters to prove wrong,” he said. “Every loss feels like I’m letting someone down.”

With his work ethic and determination, Le has become a player who embodies the pride and fight of Ardmore athletics.
