Q&A with Elgin’s Bohlin Eslick – Presented by Arvest Bank

VYPE: What grade are you in, and what sports do you play?

Bohlin: I am a freshman at Elgin High School. I play golf, baseball, and cross country.

VYPE: What accomplishment or memory are you most proud of?

Bohlin: I’m really proud of winning our first golf tournament as a team. 

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that makes you a better person?

Bohlin: Sports have taught me hard work, dedication, discipline, and resilience.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Bohlin: Mr John Lastly is my FFA instructor, and he always goes the extra mile to make sure we are ready for competition.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Bohlin: In cross country, Westin Hurst is great competition for me and we are always pushing each other to be better.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Bohlin: My Papa, Buddy Bridges. He has always supported me in all my sports. And at 80 years old, he’s right there playing golf with me or catching a bullpen for me.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?

Bohlin: Steak medium.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Bohlin: My favorite is being part of something bigger than myself. I’m grateful to be part of EHS and want to make my school proud.
