LAWTON WOLVERINES
Coach: LORENZO WILLIAMS
4-7
OFFENSE
The Lawton Wolverines enter the new season young but loaded with potential and explosive playmakers. With only seven seniors on a roster of over 100 athletes, this is a program that will lean on emerging talent and strong leadership to grow week by week. At quarterback, Joseph Simpson is ready to step into a bigger role as a junior. Coaches describe him as a ton of talent and an explosive athlete, with the ability to use his legs to extend plays in big moments. His dual-threat skill set will be a major asset, especially early in the year, as the offense works to build continuity. Tight end Breaden Burrell (6-3, 220, Sr.) is a proven weapon in the passing game, returning after recording 10 catches for 347 yards and four touchdowns last season. His size and athleticism make him a matchup problem for any defense. Up front, the Wolverines will rely on junior offensive lineman Ashton Lovell (6-3, 260) to anchor the line and help create lanes for the ground game. With so many young players gaining experience, the expectation is that this unit will improve steadily and be dangerous on the back half of the schedule and into the playoffs. Hayden Graves also returns to the field after a season-ending injury last year. Described as a great kid, a really good leader, and a proven playmaker, Graves’ return adds an important spark to the offense.
DEFENSE
On defense, Lawton will rely on its athleticism and physicality to set the tone each week.
Safety DJ Campbell (5-10, 165, Jr.) is coming off a standout season in which he totaled 59 tackles, 13 pass breakups, three interceptions, and three touchdowns. His instincts and ability to make big plays in coverage make him a leader in the secondary. Sophomore defensive lineman Kamarian Larkin (6-4, 270) is expected to become a powerhouse inside. With great feet from his background as a basketball player, Larkin is poised for an explosive sophomore year anchoring the defensive front. With talent across the field, the Wolverines are determined to grow into a playoff contender.
