ELGIN OWLS
Coach: CHALMER WYATT
14-0
OFFENSE
The Elgin Owls are coming off a historic 14-0 season that ended with a thrilling 29-22 victory over Tuttle in the Class 4A state championship. Head coach Chalmer Wyatt and his staff return hungry to build on that success with a talented group of returning stars and promising newcomers ready to step into bigger roles. The offense is powered by senior running back Ritson Meyer (6-0, 210, Sr.), who turned in one of the most dominant seasons in the state last year with 1,840 rushing yards and 32 touchdowns on the ground. Meyer, a rare three-sport star, added two receiving touchdowns, two passing scores, and a remarkable 42 carries for three touchdowns in the state title game. His toughness and versatility make him the heart of the Elgin attack. Lining up out wide, Brody Morrison (5-11, 170, Sr.) and Kason Meyer (5-10, 168, Jr.) bring explosiveness to the passing game. Morrison racked up 926 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, while Meyer added seven scores on 27 receptions. Both provide game-breaking ability on the perimeter. Don’t overlook Braxten Antuna (5-8, 170, Jr.), a lightning-quick back who averaged nearly 10 yards per carry. His speed and ability to shift directions in space add another dynamic layer to an already lethal offense.

DEFENSE
Defensively, the Owls were as fierce as they were efficient in 2024, and they return several key playmakers to anchor a unit that prides itself on physicality and fundamentals. Phillip Pebeahsy (6-0, 215, Sr.) is the leader of the front seven, coming off a huge year with 68 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, five sacks, and 14 quarterback pressures. His high motor and explosiveness make him a nightmare for opposing offenses. Brice Martin (5-8, 145, Sr.) is the definition of a ballhawk at corner, racking up eight interceptions, four of them returned for touchdowns. His playmaking and awareness are a major asset in the secondary. Emerging underclassman Caleb Adesola brings great promise at defensive end and tight end. The youngest of three brothers to come through the Elgin program, Adesola plays with excellent technique and tenacity and is expected to develop into a key contributor. With leadership, depth, and championship experience, Elgin looks ready to defend its crown.
