Cache Cheer – Team Spotlight – Presented by Moonlight Mechanical

Cache Cheer

There is more to being a high school cheer team than being on the sidelines on Friday nights cheering the football team to victory. They also have their own competitions that they work hard to be prepared for. Marte Reavis is in her third season as the head cheer coach of the Cache High School cheer team. She says that her team works hard but also works well together.

“The bond this team has developed this season is impeccable,” Reavis said. “Their drive and determination to be better than their last practice or performance, is to be admired. They continue to strive each day to exemplify what it means to be the face of the Bulldog Nation. Every one of these girls work hard day in and day out to be better leaders, performers, and to represent Cache Cheer in a respectful manner and positive light.  As coaches we are incredibly proud of each and every cheerleader that makes up this team.”

Senior Addy Reavis is a captain on the team and she says that helping the crowd get involved is something  that she loves to do.

“I enjoy having the ability to be the one leading the crowd,” she said. “Whether it’s a pep rally or a game, whether we win or lose, I enjoy supporting the teams and engaging the crowds to cheer along while performing.”

While the team enjoys cheering together, they also enjoy hanging out together and growing their team chemistry.

“Every away game is always an adventure, especially on the bus,” coach Reavis said. “We also go to J & C Cheer Camp in Norman each year, and that is a lot of fun.  This is where the girls form their lasting bond. This year we took top stunts, tumbling, motions and jumps.  Along with the coveted Top Banana.”

Another senior captain on the team, SiddaLee Fortney, appreciates the camaraderie that there is on the team.
“I enjoy how much we all support one another,” Forney said. “No matter if we’re upset or having a bad day, all of us try our best to cheer each other up.”

In her second season of helping coach the team is assistant coach Deanna Holt.
