2024 Cache Softball Preview – Presented by Moonlight Mechanical

CACHE BULLDOGS
Coach: MILES SMITH
29-11

OUTLOOK
A year ago, the Cache Lady Bulldogs finished one win shy of 30 wins — and two shy of a state championship game appearance. The experience of making the state tournament in back-to-back years,
though, will play into their favor this year as several key contributors return. “There is a good core of players returning with state tournament experience,” said head coach Miles Smith. “[I’m] expecting great leadership from our upperclassmen.” Kadielynne Fisher (Jr., P) has been a crucial piece to the Lady Bulldogs’ success the last two years, both in pitching and hitting. Can she lead Cache over the hump
this fall? Smith thinks so. “The junior looks to lead the way in the circle for us again this season,” Smith said. “She has pitched us to consecutive state tournament appearances and will also be a big stick in
the middle of the order.” Brooke Jones (Sr., OF) will showcase her tools defensively as the team’s premier outfielder and will set the tone offensively. “Senior outfielder who will make the move to center field

and leadoff this season,” Smith said. “Great kid who has quietly put together a really nice career.” Hadlee Hunt (So., P/Ulty) is expected to have a non-trivial role as her varsity softball career ramps up. Smith is
eager to use Hunt in different spots and utilize her dynamic skill set. “Talented sophomore who can play a number of different positions, including pitcher,” Smith said. “Should be a mainstay at the top of the lineup as well.” Playmaker Caitlyn Hodge (Sr., SS) contributes in more ways than one. If Cache is going
to be successful this year, her maturity, experience and leadership in the dugout will be a catalyst in its success. “Senior shortstop who leads by example both on and off the field,” Smith said. “Great kid who makes all of her teammates feel valued.” The Lady Bulldogs open the season Tuesday, Aug. 13 at home
against Anadarko. They will also play in the Chisholm Trail Classic at Tuttle (Aug. 16-17), the Heart of Oklahoma Tournament in Purcell and Washington (Aug. 22-24), the Wichita Mountain Classic at home (Sep. 5-7), the Choctaw/Carl Albert Festival (Sep. 13-14), the Northwest OKC Festival (Sep. 21) and the Chickasha Festival (Sep. 28).
